A couple of questions from the forum..

when did last hate your t25! grrr!

It has never brought me to tears, tho yesterday it really annoyed me, I almost contemplated a straight swap for a Mazda RX8 (and I hate jap cars)....


Not in any order....

• Replacing the lower water pipe on a WBX (a ten min job.....), bolt snapped in the water pump......three hours later!!!!
• Faulty electrics (but only intermittent so unable to source the problem and fix it).
• Handbrake adjuster seized onto back plate (dont know how, but it was a total b*****d to sort).
• Flat battery syndrome (ok so this one was my fault, I could have charged it but hey), twice!!!!!!!!
• Sump plug - after a discussion in tech, we have decided that my sump plug is a aftermarket/retrofit 19mm......taking a grinder to a snap-on socket takes balls of steel and a very good friend not to kill you!!

MOT Day....

And it passed.

Required a new handbrake cable (something I already knew)......day started out bad, battery was flat, jumped started it, but again after 15 mins of driving I had to put fuel in...again no start and unable to jump it. AA came and diagnosed a f**ked battery. He got me going.
Once I got to test station, I checked the battery with my mates tester and it agreed it was 'brown bread', so a replacement Bosch one ordered.
Fitted the water pipe I got from Brickwerks in November and decided a full service was in order.

£200 total, happy man :)

Disco time?!?

Ok, after my trip to Brickwerks, and seeing how much less it was that I thought it was going to be, I bought some FLI speakers for the rear.....now I want some for the front also!!!!

A trip to Brickwerks

I have had a leaking coolant pipe for a while now, so today I decided to nip to Brickwerk's to collect one and to make sure its the right one lol.

Once I got there, Simon decided to have a little look over Bobby, which reminded me that the alternator connector was fubar, so I asked him to replace it. He asked me a few questions and diagnosed a faulty idle valve on the dissy, so he did that too.
So, we have a brand new water pipe, idle control valve, connector on the back of the alternator, loads of free advise and labour on top plus reset the timing - needless to say my bank card was petrified - but I was more than happy with the price :) ohh and a couple of the new design stickers
Bobby now idles smoother, drivers smoother, has more power and most of all, sounds better.

230v lighting

Well after the recant camping, I decided that I do need 230v lighting in Bobby. So today was the day, starting with two GU10 light fittings, there is still another light or two to fit (one in the cab, its unbelievably dark in there and another further back under the 'top bunk'.

So here we have the before and after shots....

After the last few days camping, I have worked out that I do need 230V lighting and another socket (if not two).
The LED lighting I fitted last week was good, but not amazing, but was great for reading at night, if only I could isolate the 'top bed' light - so more re-wiring.

But I have to try everything and I enjoy it all if I am honest.

Haloween camping :)

Halloween is my daughters birthday, and every year (so far anyway) we have a party on the Saturday before and go away for a few days afterwards.

Obviously with the purchase of Bobby earlier in the year, we had to take full advantage of it!

So deciding to go local (which I am glad we did), I looked on a 'campsite recommendation site' and found 'Upwood Park' in Oxenhope, near Howarth - http://www.upwoodpark.co.uk/

I have been to Howarth and Oxenhope many times in my life, but some how, I managed to miss all of the beautiful scenery and the 'special' places that I like to take pictures of at night.

When we got to the site, we were welcomed by a barrier in the road, once though the barrier, we were shown to our pitch and then went to reception to get the security key fob and had a quick beer in the bar, then remembering I had forgotten some supplies, I nipped into the onsite shop and bought the oats for the morning breakfast (not overly expensive at all, though the stock is a little limiting).

Setting up the van was easy on the hard standing, and within about 20 mins we had everything plugged in and food on the hob! Now comes the amazing side - the toilets - beautiful and I even considered sleeping in them they were that warm, but the radio 2 that's piped into them would probably drive me insane!

A nice, comfortable and warm night :)

The following morning, we went to Howarth itself (via a nice sight seeing run) and had some cheap and cheerful cafe food. Then a little sight seeing trip and back to the campsite.

We decided to have a wonder around the site and Chloe loved the onsite play area! Then it was time for dinner and bed!

Last day, so packing up and driving home :(

All in all, a great site, will be going again for the 'Santa steam railway' and more than likely a few more times next year.

I was amazed how quiet the site was, the site is under a flight path from Leeds Bradford airport and also has Oxenhope International airport literally on the door step!
